Oh Goodness!

About 2 years ago, Jason was in horrible pain. I rushed him to the ER and we found out that he had kidney stones. Since then, he has had a few, but with the help of a heating pad, hot baths, and Motrin, he's been able to manage the pain at home. That was until this past Thursday. It was shortly after I took Evan and Payton to school, that Addi, Karsyn, and I took Jason to the ER. After we got there, I gave Nana a call and she was on her way to get Addi. (She would have taken Karsyn too, and even offered to get her some formula, but I decided to keep her with me, so that I could nurse her.) I kept the girls in the waiting room, while they took Jason back. Addi and I worked on her ABC flash cards and she enjoyed some Reese's Pieces while we waited for Nana.



After Addi and Nana were on their way, Karsyn and I went to be with Daddy. He was feeling pretty poorly at this point.



After Karsyn had a full tummy, she slept almost for the rest of Daddy's visit.



As of today, Jason still isn't feeling too well. Please send a few prayers his way. A big special thanks goes out to Nana for taking off of work to help us out.

The Pumpkin Patch - The Corn Maze

As mentioned in The Pumpkin Patch - All Things Pumpkins, we, along with Grandma and Papa Floyd, took the 4 kiddos to the pumpkin patch. This isn't the best picture of our cutie cakes, but it's the best I got today. =)



When Evan saw there was a corn maze (or maybe it was really a cane maze) that was all he wanted to do. Papa got us some tickets and off we went.



The maze led us to a downed tree. It was huge! Unfortunelty, I only got a picture of the tip of it. There were quite a few other people who saw it as a great photo op too. Who would have thought a pumpkin patch would have been so busy on a beautiful afternoon the weekend before Halloween?



About half way through the maze, Addi decided to entertain us all by singing an Addi original called "Triangle." Although the song only has one word that is repeated over and over, it's quite the catchy tune. I know I can't quit singing it.



Karsyn got a little sleepy during the corn maze and found the perfect place to take a nap - on Papa's shoulder.



I think everyone greatly enjoyed our trip to the pumpkin patch - I know I did. I'm glad Grandma and Papa went with us. It sure made Karsyn's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch special.

The Pumpkin Patch - All Things Pumpkin

Just when I thought we weren't going to make it to the Pumpkin Patch this year, I realized late yesterday afternoon, that today would be the perfect day to go. I called Grandma and we decided we'd go after church and after naps. Here are Grandma, Karsyn, Evan, Payton, Papa, and Addisyn.




Evan wasn't really interested in taking pictures or even the pumpkins. (Yes, I know, it's another sign that he's getting big.) He was very excited about the hay house and the cane maze. He did let me get this cute picture.



Addi,on the other hand, thinks pumpkins are the greatest thing in the world.




Karsyn enjoyed the Pumpkin Patch too. Isn't she boo-t-ful?



Addi really couldn't get enough of all the pumpkins.



Payton loved the pumpkins and the hay house. She didn't so much love the smell of the goats.



Have I mentioned how much Addi LOVED the pumpkins?

Jesse's Birthday Party

You've heard me mention my niece, Jessi, before, but now, I'm talking about our friend - Jesse. Today, we celebrated this handsome guy's 6th birthday doing some thing he loves - bowling!



Even Daddy got to go with us today. Here he is with Payton and Karsyn.



Karsyn loved watching everything that was going on.

I'm not really sure if Addisyn was teaching Daddy here or if Daddy was teaching Addi.



Once Addi figured out that the goal was not to keep the ball, she had a lot of fun. As a side note, this picture has made me decide to start a diet.

After the kiddos bowled for a while, we enjoyed some pizza.



Then it was cake time, after the birthday boy blew out his candle, of course.



Addi loved the cupcakes. I love how beautiful her eyes look here.



We really had a fantastic time at the party. It doesn't seem like it was all that long ago that we were meeting Jesse for the first time, just a few hours after he was born. He's one special little guy to us!

A Little Sketchy

I found out my camera has a setting to make pictures look as though they are sketches. So, we had a little fun.

Basketball - A Family Divided

Payton and my niece, Jessi, recently started playing basketball on a local church league. Today the girls' team squared off against each other. Who did we cheer for you ask? We cheered for both teams! It makes the game even funner when you want both sides to win. But, ultimately there can only be one winner. After this game, our team remains undefeated.




Is it just me or is Number 2 too cute?



Here are Payton and her buddy known as Boo Bear in the blogging world. You can check out her mama's blog here. Boo has a super big smile when she plays defense...it's so sweet. I really enjoy watching these girls play.

Character Award

Thursday evening, I received a phone call from the Assistant Principal at Evan and Payton's elementary school. Mr. Johnson informed me that Evan was going to be winning a character award. His teacher nominated him for an award for good citizenship. She wrote on his award that he was receiving it for always doing the right thing. He also got recognized for meeting his reading goal and for Top Dog Math. He answered 100 questions in 8 minutes. His next goal is 6 minutes. I sure am proud of my little guy. He's the cutie in the orange pull over.

Pumpkins

When carving pumpkins, never, no never, let your children plant the seeds in your front yard. Pumpkins can survive a blizzard and then survived record hot summers. Only plant pumpkin seeds in your back yard. I'm pretty sure if you were to watch these plants close enough, you could maybe see them grow. Here is our crop of pumpkins. We grew six of them.

Here comes Texas!

This past weekend, Eugene, Becky, Kellie, Kyle, and Katelyn came up from Texas for a visit. Saturday night, Mom and Dad hosted a cook out. I think everyone had a great time. Here's a shot of all the kiddos with Eugene. He's such a wonderful uncle. He played ball with the kids until it was chow time.




My Grandma Paula, Grandpa Chuck, Aunt Janet and cousin, Polly, all came to the BBQ. Here's my mama with her mama.

I couldn't get a picture of Addi's front side. She was way to busy playing ball. A view of her back side is pretty darn cute though.



Out of my parents' 11 grandchildren, there are only 3 boys. Here they are - Evan, Kyle, and Stephen.

After we played outside and ate, we came in to play. Aunt Ashley brought over a game called Headbandz. Evan is red, because right before this picture, Jessi put her hand right in the plate of chips you see there.

We had such a nice visit. Even so, it's always hard to say our good-byes.

Karsyn Faith - 3 Months

It's hard to believe this sweet baby girl is already 3 months old. It's totally amazing how someone so little can be such a big part of your family and your heart in such a short amount of time. Karsyn is a sweet and gentle girl, yet so strong at the same time. She's my breath of fresh air. Can you tell I'm just crazy about this girl?

So, here's what she's up to. She coos and smiles all the time. She can roll over both ways. Her little neck is getting quite strong. She'll sleep for up to 7 hours at night. Usually, it's from around 7 pm until 2 am. Nursing is still going great for both of us. The little rolls on her thighs tell me so. She's wearing 3-6 month clothes and in a size 2 diaper. She loves to play on her activity mat and bat at the toys. She also loves to have books read to her. She loves to look at the colorful pictures. I feel so blessed that God choose me to be her mommy.

The Park

I'm a little behind on blogging, but I'm getting caught up today. I promise. Two weeks ago, Payton asked if we could go to the park. She said she wanted to show us how high she could swing now. She's been practicing at school on recess. So, to the park we went.



Karsyn stayed comfy and close to Mommy the whole time.



Until this trip to the park, Addi always hated the swings. This girl is not at all interested in sitting while at the park. But she gave them a try and decided they were great.




Since Payton's first trip to the park as a baby, the swings have always been her favorite. It really impressed (and scared) me how high she got. She had a huge smile the whole time.




It was a nice way to spend a Friday evening.
