| Karsyn, Evan, Addisyn, & Payton |
We got to see a chimp swinging in a tree!
Payton helped Karsyn take a better look through the telescope.
Two more friends joined the chimp to sit on a log. We're pretty sure that their names are Payton, Addi, and Karsyn. =)
Our next stop was the petting zoo. Daddy and the kiddos brushed goats and checked out a bunny.
Then, we got to see the Rhinos! I think we could watch them all day!
All 4 kiddos really love the Meerkats too! Can you see the little guy?
We got a really good look at the tigers too! Usually, they like to lounge towards the back of the exhibit.
The flamingos are always so much fun to watch. We thought they looked extra pink today.
And of course, we couldn't go to the zoo without seeing the penguins. Sometimes, we go to the zoo just to see them.
The lions and giraffes were up next. Karsyn found the best spot for a great view.
We saw the tortoises last. The zoo keepers were trying to move them into their enclosure. They made a trail with carrots. The tortoises were more than happy to follow.
Oh yeah, this happened too! LOL!
We had to ride the carousel before we left the zoo.
I couldn't get a good picture of Evan and Payton on the carousel. Payton rode a zebra and Evan rode a horse. =) We really enjoyed our time at the zoo! It has me so excited for spring and summer. I hope you all had a great weekend too!

Oh, I love the zoo! I really do need to take my kids to the zoo soon, but our state's zoo is a few hours away. They put it kind of in the middle of nowhere because they wanted lots of land to recreate more of a natural habitat for the animals as opposed to just the usual small zoo enclosures. It actually doesn't give you the best view of the animals sometimes because their habitats are so large, but the area is very pretty and it does seem to be more humane to the animals. We have done some other zoo type options around our area (like where we did their birthday party last year), but I really miss our zoo. Evan went as a baby with me and my brother's family, and he had an interesting interaction with a chimp...they looked like best buddies touching hands on the glass. Haha! The picture of Karsyn reminded me of Evan actually because he has been picking the ostrich to ride on carousels lately. He says they run fast! :-)
ReplyDeleteSherry, did you do a post on your blog of Evan's zoo trip? If you did, let me know. I'd love to see the pictures, I bet that was adorable!!! Your zoo sounds great! We're pretty lucky, because we are close to two zoos. We went to the Tulsa Zoo, but the OKC Zoo isn't too far away from us either. I LOVE Evan's reason for picking ostriches. How funny!!
DeleteI'm glad you all enjoyed the nice weather. I'm ready for spring. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly!
DeleteWhat a SWEET family you are!!! Love the pictures! :)

Oh, thank you! And, thanks for stopping by! I look forward to checking out your blog!
DeleteI love the zoo! It's too bad the closest one to us is an hour and a half away :( Our weather here has been up and down too. Last week it never got about 9 degrees and today it's 45! But it'll go back, we've got two months of winter left!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm afraid we're in for some more winter weather too! It seems like this winter has been the coldest that we've had in a long time.
DeleteI really keep hoping our spring-like weather will stick around but I know we've got A LOT more winter left. It looks like you had a fun family outing, taking advantage of the good weather!
