I'm not sure how it happened. I really don't know. We were going along enjoying our summer, when out of no where, we realized that summer break is ending so much sooner than we would like. I want to make the kids' summer good till the last drop, so I have been trying to think of fun activities. I realized it's been quite some time since we'd been to the play area at McDonald's. We waited for Uncle Chad to drop Jessi off this morning and then off we went.

When we pulled into the parking lot, Addi excitedly asked if we were going to play with friends. She started looking around and asking, "Where is Landon?" The last time we went to McDonald's for play time was back in May before school let out. You can read about that play date
here. (When I looked at that post, I was a little shocked to see just how much Karsyn has changed in the last few months. Wow!) The kiddos ate their breakfast and then play time started. Addi wouldn't climb up the platforms, she would only climb up the slides.

Evan really had a lot of fun playing. I think he really liked burning off some extra energy.

Then, it was time for a little crazy. I sat Karsyn at the end of the blue slide...like I did the last time we were there. She started to climb up a little, but I didn't worry, because she had done so last time, then she would turn around and slide down. This time, she kept climbing...and climbing...and climbing. I had to send Jessi to fetch her, because I was so afraid she'd end up in the top area, climbing around in the tubes. Once Karsyn figured out she could climb that high, that's all she wanted to do. Then, the rest of the crew got pretty loud - 75% of that loudness was coming from one little girl alone - eh-hum....Addi! I realized the kiddos had more energy than one little McDonald's play ground could contain. So.....

We locked and loaded and headed to our favorite park. Payton is showing off her monkey like ability here.

The bigger kids all love going down this red twirly pole. They love to look at me right before they go down, because they know that them being up so high makes me a wee bit scared. Here's Evan taking his turn.

Oh how I love that sweet baby face! Karsyn decided that she loved walking across the bridge. She loves doing it even more on her own, but sometimes, when you are a baby and there are a lot of older helpers, you get help whether you want it or not.

We decided to go for a little walk. Isn't this just too sweet?

The original plan was to go play on another jungle gym, but there were a few things happening that made us change our mind. (Okay, there was a man there, who was smoking, that had a dog with no leash and was not there with any children. Oh and his shirt wasn't buttoned...a few red flags, dare I say?)

'Ring Around the Rosies'
|
Instead, we decided to play a game of 'Ring Around the Rosies' and then it was time to head home. The kiddos were all starting to get a little tired and it was starting to get pretty hot. All together, we had a really nice time. But, just in case you are wondering....we won't be going back to play at McDonald's for a long while. =)
