Today was a VERY busy sports day for our little family of 6. Boys basketball season always ends with a tournament. Last week, the basketball league took an off week. That meant Evan and my nephew, Stephen, would have to play a basketball tournament and their first game of the soccer season all in the same day. Jason had to work today, so he wasn't able to come to any of the games. =( The boys had to be warming up by 7:40 this morning. Their first game was against the light blue team. The light blue team had an identical record to the green team. Two losses to the dark blue team, two wins to the white team, and one loss and one win to our green team.

The boys knew they were going to have to work hard for a win. They really looked like a team while they were playing. They did awesome and won the game 12-4! They were so excited that they were going to get a chance to take 1st place at noon!

During the first game, a few little sisters thought they needed a treat from the concession stand. Addi loves M&M's. I'm guessing she ate a red one last. =)

Karsyn loves game time, but she loves cuddling with Nana even more.

Payton was being silly. And yes, she does have a black eye. Earlier this week, she was sitting on Addi's big wheel. As she was sliding off the back of it, the front popped up and the handle bars hit her in the eye. It looks just terrible!

I liked this picture of Karsyn from the game too. =)

The boys were back and ready to play at noon. They were playing against the undefeated dark blue team. The first half of the game, the boys held their own. But, by the second half of the game, the blue team ran up the score. The boys lost 19-7.

Even though the boys lost game 2 of the tournament, they still took second place! I'm super proud that they did so good all season.

Here they are with Coach Carla. It was a big blessing that she was such a wonderful coach. She was actually my basketball coach when I was in the 7th grade. Her son, Jacob, is standing next to Evan. I think it's pretty awesome that our sons played on the same team.

After the basketball game and trophy presentation, we had just enough time for me to drop Karsyn and Addisyn off at Nana and Papa's house. Usually, the girls go to all of the games, but with the temps being a little low and having just sat through 2 hours of basketball games, it just made more sense for the girls not to go. Payton was invited to go shopping with Aunt Ashley and Jessi. Evan's #15 on his soccer team.

Evan got to be the goalie during the last half of the game. He did an excellent job. He blocked A LOT of shots. Even so, the Cheiftians lost their first game 8-2. Evan and Stephen were 2 tired boys when they walked off of the soccer fields.

And if you can believe it, our day didn't end there. I'll have to wait to post the second half of our day tomorrow. This mama is pretty tired herself. =)
Wow! Y'all are busy. I know all of that is just another year away for us.
ReplyDeleteI got to the end of your post and couldn't believe you had more of your day to get through. Whoa! You are one busy mama.
