I've been trying to find time all week to sit down and write a few posts. Since I'm a little limited on time, I thought I'd just write one big post to get caught up. Hopefully, it will be coherent. I will be writing in between loads of laundry. Blogging isn't the only thing that I'm behind on. =) Last week, Addi had her Kindergarten Easter Egg Hunt. Karsyn and I went to watch. As we were walking from the classroom to the field, Addi would look at me and smile. But, she wouldn't say a single word. She is very, VERY serious about following the rules. She takes after her big brother and big sister that way. The baby sister of family did not inherit the strict rule following gene. Yikes! We got outside and the egg hunt was on! Addi stopped hunting eggs to help a friend who fell down and was crying. Then, she got right back to hunting eggs.
Karsyn loved watching Addi! She also loved that Addi's classmates kept offering her candy.
Addi did such a good job!
She helped a friend out.
Each student got to collect 13 eggs.
Our most favorite teacher's assistant did an egg count.
Then, the girls got to play for a little while.
I really love sweet sister moments like these!
When we were at the egg hunt, I couldn't help but think about how fast time goes by. It wasn't all that long ago that Addi was the smile baby at Evan's Kindergarten Easter Egg Hunt. Here she is smiling at all of his friends!
Now we'll switch gears, Saturday was all about soccer. The kiddos and I followed Nana and Papa over to Evan's away game. The season is nearly half over, but due to weather conditions, this was only the second game that the team has played. That means we'll be having lots of make up games in our near future. Here's the team warming up.
For a short while, we had two number 15's.
Coach was quick to fix that.
My now number 18 got to be the team captain.
Addi isn't the biggest soccer fan in the world. She much rather would pick dandelions. At one point, she was pretending to space walk down the side lines. lol!
The girls also did a fair amount of cuddling.
Evan's been playing a wing position this season. It's quite a bit different being in the goalie box. He's adjusting well.
Nana and Papa stayed with Evan. The girls and I booked it back to our town to get Karsyn and Coach Payton to their game. Karsyn is an excellent soccer player. At her first game, she scored 3 goals. At this game, she scored 4!!! I think growing up on the sidelines of Evan and Payton's games has helped her understand the sport. That being said, she does seem to have a lot of natural athletic ability. She runs very fast!
Karsyn's got the ball!
Before Karsyn's last game, I got an e-mail stating that the league needed a few helpers at the games. I thought it would work out that Evan could help, but then his game got rescheduled. Since I had Stephen with me, I volunteered him for the position. He was more than happy to help. When we walked him over to the club house, Payton was asked to stay too. This absolutely thrilled her to no end. She had really wanted to play this season, but it just didn't work out with her schedule. Stephen and Payton both did a great job that Saturday. Payton decided that she wants to coach at all of Karsyn's games. The club is more than happy to have her help. I'm really proud of her and think it will be an awesome experience for her.
Karsyn had the ball again! This was the time when the ball got thrown in, she took it, and turned it! I was so impressed with her turning skills!! She ran down the field and scored a goal!
Karsyn is a soccer star, but she's also a 3 year-old girl. She played in the dirt a few times, but then she'd hop back into the game.
Payton loves coaching the U-3/U4. She is really good with her sister and the other players on the field.
After the game. they celebrated with popcicles.
Wednesdays at church, our kiddos go to Master's Club. It's very similar to Awanas, if you are familiar with that program. The kids wear vest and earn badges for scripture memory and other things. Karsyn's age group wears t-shirts. She earned a ribbon this week for scripture memory. I am so proud of her! I love that all of the kids are learning the Word of God in such a fun way through this club. They are excited to go back each week and learn. In gymnastics class, Karsyn has been learning all about winning ribbons. So, when we got out into the parking lot, she said that she was happy to win a red ribbon at church, but that she'd win a blue one on her floor routine at her gymnastics meet. =) We did our best to try to explain that the color of her ribbon didn't mean that she came in second, but I'm not sure that we changed her mind. Evan also won a bible study badge! If Addi gets all her work done this week, she'll earn 2 badges next week!
Thursday after school, our girls went over to Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Terry's house for a tea party. The girls could not have been any more excited! They talked about going all week! The girls baked and decorated cupcakes.
Here they are with the finished product! They tried to make a caterpillar just like in the book.
Also this week, we had picture day at our preschool. Jason brought the big kiddos up to do some sibling pictures. From what I could see, they turned out really cute. I can't wait to see the proofs. Jason, Evan, Payton, and Addi all got to see Karsyn and I doing our thing at school, while the photographer was getting things set up. I think they all really enjoyed it! Now off to work on the mounds of laundry waiting... Have a good weekend!

Reading your blog makes me feel like I am reading my life. Always going from one thing to the next. Love how sweet she is always helping out friend. I totally forgot about make up picture day ( Snow day caused us to miss the original day). Looks like yall are in full busy swing.
ReplyDeleteWe are always going Becky! It seems like this time of year we are three times as fast as usual. I know you understand, because you all run like we do. =) If you have any tips for staying on top of kids' activities and getting your housework done, please let me know!
Deletehaha I just told my husband if someone was to come in our house they would take our children away. we have two loads of laundry on the love seat waiting to be folded and put away and lots more toys and junk laying around. Our kids seem to think the first empty place is the perfect to throw it down.
DeleteI've been doing laundry all day and am still no where close to being done! Ah!
DeleteWhew! This post made me tired just reading about all of the fun! As far as tips for getting the laundry done... I have none! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thank you!
DeleteI only have two kids and I can't stay on top of our laundry. And this week I am switching out the winter clothes for spring and that just makes for more laundry as the new clothes need to be washed. Argh. I can't imagine doing it with four. And working too. You are one busy mama!
ReplyDeleteAnd the main thing I am taking away from this post is -- Karsyn and Addi's hair is getting SO LONG!!! When did that happen?!?!?
Yes, their hair is getting really long. Addi wants hers to be as long as Rapunzel's. We'll see if that happens. lol. I'm hoping that we'll have a much easier time styling their hair for their upcoming dance recital this year now that it's longer.
