Our 15 Month-Old

Karsyn turned 15 months-old on the 5th of this month! Yesterday, we got her in for her well baby check.  Turns out, she was actually a sick baby. =(  She has an ear infection. She's had a little bit of a runny nose, but she's been her usual sweet hearted self, so we didn't know.  Here she is in the Waiting Room of the doctor's office.  She's such a cutie pie!

Karsyn at the doctor.

So, here's her stats - she weighs 23 pounds 10 oz (60%).  Her noggin measured 18 1/2 inches (80%).  Yes, big heads run on both sides of the family. =)  They measured her a couple of times, but could never get the same measurement twice. She's somewhere between 30-32 inches. She wasn't being too much of a wiggly baby, but they used 2 different methods of measurement.  She's some where between the 30-46% for height.  The doctor asked me if she could walk and then had Karysn walk across the room.  He started laughing and said, "She doesn't walk, she runs!"  The nurse took a picture of her eyes (just the standard for this appointment with our doctor.)  The doctor told me that she was a healthy baby girl and reminded me of how blessed I am. Both, Karsyn and Addi were great at the doctor's office, which is always a good thing.

At 15 months Karsyn's vocabulary is growing!  It seems like every day she's learning a new word and understanding more.  She is such a happy girl!  When Daddy comes home from work, she goes running to him, waving, and saying "hi dada!"  When we pick up Evan and Payton from school, the teachers always laugh, because as soon as we open the van door, Karsyn will start squealing and waving and saying "hi!" to Evan and Payton.  But the best reaction is when we go pick Addi up from school, we wait outside of the preschool and as soon as the teacher opens the door, she'll be so excited she starts squealing.  I know when Addi's coming out, because Addi starts squealing too.  Karsyn will say, "Hi Addi" and start laughing as soon as she sees Addi.  Then, Addi starts jumping.  It's the cutest thing ever!  You'd think they hadn't seen each other in weeks. =)

Another exciting thing that happen this week, is that Karsyn went pee pee on the potty.  We aren't actively trying to potty train her, but we do sit her on the potty before and after she takes a bath.  She sees Big Sister Addi do it and she wants to as well.  If she starts doing a little more often, we'll see what happens.  (We are in no rush to have her potty trained and after potty training 3 other kiddos, we know that it will happen when SHE is ready.)

Karsyn also loves to sing and do the motions to the "Itsy Bitsy Spider."   She'll put her hand in position and say "Itsy" until I start singing.  Her face just lights up when we sing it.  We are so blessed to have this baby girl as a part of our family!  We love her so much!!!!
