Another Pretty Day

This doesn't happen often.  Nope, in fact, I'm known for quite the opposite.  But, I have a little bit of a tan (and a little bit of a sunburn on my nose!)  I can hardly believe it! Umm...yes my friends, this is tan for me. =)

Moving right along....the weather here has been unusually beautiful for the last couple of days.  It's normal for it to be in the 90's this time of year, not the 70's.  No complaints here!  It's been wonderful!  Jason is off today.  We took the kiddos to the library and to the park.  I promise that I won't post any more park pictures for a while after these!  =)

Mr. Evan
We really enjoyed our time at the park!  Here's a question for my book loving friends.  What are some great summer reads?

  1. Awww, I love park pictures because where else can kids really just be and play like kids? I guess it just brings back memories of my own childhood when we would spend every afternoon playing outside as opposed to so many kids today spending all of their free time inside playing video games and watching TV. Anyway, I am looking for good ideas for summer reading too. I don't want anything to serious or though provoking. I have read a few Nick Sparks books since I hadn't really had time for pleasure reading lately, and I want to purchase Dan Brown's new novel, but it is so expensive since it just came out. What do you like to read? When I can't find anything or don't want to go looking for a new book, my go to books are anything Jane Austen. :-)

    1. Oh, I know what you mean! Kids do need a chance just to be kids. I'm with you. I don't want to read anything to serious either. I've read a few Nick Sparks books and had kind of forgot about him. Great idea! I haven't heard of Dan Brown. I'll look into that too. It's been a while since I've picked up a Jane Austen book. Thanks for the suggesions. It really helps.

    2. Dan Brown wrote "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" - the Robert Langdon series that they made into movies starring Tom Hanks. This is the 4th book in the Langdon series. I know they can be a little weird, but I like them. I think I might look into that series that Natasha mentioned on her blog (the quilting series) because it does sound interesting and fun.

  2. Gorgeous pic. Apparently our tans are similar.

  3. I'm posting park pictures tomorrow! What sorts of things do you like to read currently? I would do a much better job of making suggestions if I knew what sorts of things you were interested in.

  4. Oh goodness! It's been so long since I've read fiction. We went to the library and I didn't even know where to start. I like short, easy reads. Nothing to heavy.
