Beating the Heat

Even though it's not as hot as it was last summer (thank the Lord!), it's still been quite toasty around here.  I took the kiddos to the park this morning.  In less than half an hour, they were all pink faced.  They all asked to go home before we had been there an hour.  That NEVER happens!!!!  I think we're going to have to go earlier in the morning, if we want to enjoy it more.

In an attempt to try to stay cool and to keep the kiddos active, we've spent the last two evenings playing with water in the back yard.  On Sunday night, Evan and Payton had fun with water guns.

We set up the water table for the littlest ladies of the family.  Karsyn thinks the water table makes a perfect pool.

Monday evening, we set up a pool for the little girls.  They were so happy when I pulled their little slide over.
Addi's turn!

Karsyn's such a cute water baby!!!

She made it down!!!
Addi & Karsyn had so much fun!
Evan and Payton were busy trying to Slip and Slide. For some reason, we don't have the best water pressure in our back yard.  The slipping and sliding didn't go quite as smoothly as we'd hope it would.  They started testing different methods...none of which worked to well.
Evan tried flying down.

Payton tried pushing her way down.
Karsyn saw the struggle and decided to give Evan and Payton a demonstration.  Surely, she could show them how it's done.

She didn't make it much further than they did, but she sure looked cute trying. =)

Evan and Payton gave up their slip and slide dreams and made their way to the pool. There wasn't much space, so this didn't last too long.
Crazy kids!
I think we'll have to head to a real pool on Daddy's next day off.  =)  How are you all beating the heat?

  1. We were in cooler Saskatoon with air conditioning during last week's heat wave here. This post reminds me that we haven't even pulled our water table out yet this year. I am LOVING this cooler weather. Only one month until we get a house with air conditioning!!!!!!!

  2. Although we have had a lot of hot days this summer, it definitely isn't as hot as in years past...and we are practically drowning in rain (very unusual)! Looks like your kids are good at finding ways to keep cool!
