Monkey About Karsyn

While we were on vacation, the littlest lady of our family celebrated a birthday!  Can it be true that our Karsyn Faith is now a 2 year-old?  Our sweet baby girl isn't so much of a baby any more.

I had planned to have a big back yard bash similar to Payton & Addi's party two years ago, only with a monkey theme.  You can read all about that party here.  But, I miscalculated Daddy's days off and I didn't allow enough time for him to set up the pool.  We decided to go with the next best thing and have Karsyn's birthday party at our local public pool.  It was our first time to go, but it was so much fun!  We are so glad that we had Karsyn's party there!

Before we left for the pool, we stopped by Kim's house to pick up her cake.  Once again, Kim did an awesome job!

Then we made it to the pool!  I tried really hard to get a good picture of the birthday girl and this was the best that I could get.  There was too much action for this two year-old girl to want to sit still and take a picture!

While I was busy taking pictures, Daddy was busy getting everyone sun blocked up. What did we do before stick sun block?  I just don't know.

We were set and ready to go!  We got there a little early, so we had to wait a few minutes for our guests to arrive.  Payton couldn't wait to get in the water.  Evan couldn't take his eyes off of the slide.  He was trying to decide which one he would go down first.

Addi decided to use the few minutes of waiting to give Karsyn 113 birthday kisses.  Karsyn gets a lot of kisses from Addi every day.

Our guests arrived and then it was pizza time!!!

When Daddy went to get the cake, Grandma and Addi took a few pictures!
All week long, we'd sing 'Happy Birthday' to Karsyn and she would pretend to blow out candles.  There were many times when she'd sing to herself to get a little practice in.  But, when it came time for her party, she felt a little shy. She just wasn't sure if she wanted to blow her candles out. (There was a little bit of wind, and we were lucky to get a candle lit at all.)
Karsyn
Her cousins and friends were more than happy to help her through her shyness.  Or maybe, it's just fun to blow out candles!

Katelyn was more than happy to help!

Yay!!!!
We love cake time!  Daddy did a great job cutting the cake.  Kim out did herself and the cake was delish!

These girls were ready for cake!

And so were these boys!!!

Then, it was time to hit the water.  Stephen was ready to go!  He cracks me up!

It was a little crowded at the pool, but we all had a great time!  It's been open for 3 years and I can't believe we've waited so long to try it out.  It was so much fun and I don't think that any one enjoyed it more than our sweet birthday girl!  We love you so much Karsyn!!!!

We swam and played for about an hour and a half and then it was time for the pool to close.  It was time to get out of the pool, dry off, and maybe take a few more pictures.

Mommy took a few more pictures too!  I love this one of Papa and Evan.  We told Papa and Grandma that they have to swim with us next time.  I'm about 75% sure that they will. ha!

Karsyn had a great time at her party.  She is such a little sweetie!  I feel blessed every day that God chose me to be her mommy.  Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate her special day!

Happy Birthday Karsyn!  We love you bigger than your smile and brighter than the sparkles in your eyes!!!!

  1. So funny, Maggie celebrated her actual birthday while we were on vacation too and then had a party when we got home. I wonder if they'll expect to go to the beach every year for their birthdays?? Ha! Looks like fun. Happy Birthday Karsyn! What a cutie she is!
