Evan had his first away game of the season this afternoon. The town Evan played in today, is just south of Tulsa. When we got there, Evan's coach told him the news he'd been waiting to hear - Evan will be the team's goalie. I don't think he could have been any happier! We're pretty proud of our little guy! We were also very happy to see Aunt Kary and Stephen. Stephen had a game earlier and they decided to stay to watch Evan play. (Thanks again for watching the game with us!!!) Evan was also chosen today to be the team captain. The coach switches the captains out every game. It's always fun for the boys to do the coin toss.

Despite Evan's team's best effort, they lost 4-3! The other team just dominated the ball! I can't even say for sure how many goals Evan blocked, but it was A LOT! Evan's coach was very pleased with how well he did! Another mom told Evan that he was a rock star! That sure made his face light up! I can't wait to watch Evan in action at his next game!
Oooo, I want to see that little rock star in action! Evan just got his team assignment and uniform yesterday, and they'll begin next weekend. He is bright yellow this year. Eddie wants them to be the killer bees. Haha! I am nervous about him playing U8 and maybe having to be goalie this year although I am sure he can handle it. He played U6 the last two years. I think it's neat that both our Evans are playing soccer. We'll have so many similar posts this fall! :-)
