When school, basketball, soccer, dance, speech therapy, and tot gym class started, I started feeling VERY tired. Trying to get everyone to where they needed to be and trying to keep up with all of my mommy chores was wearing me out. I was tired from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed. I started to feel like I was just in survival mode and for me, that's just not good enough. That's not the way that I want to be a wife or a mama. I realized it was way past time to start exercising and eating right. Our little family decided to make these healthy changes together. We're only about 2 weeks into the process, but I can already tell such a difference in my energy and I'm seeing some downward motion on the scale. Our kiddos are really enjoying it too! Evan and Payton love to jog. Addi and Karsyn love being pulled in their wagon. We always have to stop when we find a pine cone - you know pine cones are treasures, don't you? We've went on family walks for the past 3 nights. I really can't tell you how much I've enjoyed it.

I love that first picture of them jogging. As a runner, I often day-dream about when Lance will finally start jogging with me! Good luck on your fun, new adventure. Y'all will do great! : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly!
DeleteHey, those pics are in "my" neighborhood! I spy my old neighbors' houses in the background!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures were taken in both your old and current neighborhood. ha! I think some of the picture are from the night that we walked by your house. =)
DeleteI love it! I am so glad you are getting healthy as a family. What a wonderful thing to do together! And the downward motion on the scales would definitely be a good thing over here. Haha! Now that the weather is cooling down, I definitely think we are going to have to start this tradition too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragment! It's a lot of fun doing it as a family.
DeleteThis post is a good kick in the pants for me too! August and September have been such awful months of eating junk, not exercising, being stressed and eating still more junk. Bring on a healthy October. And thank you for the reminder about family walks too. We definitely need more of those in our lives.
ReplyDeleteAren't family walks the best? After reading your post about your bike, I really want one now. I would really enjoy doing that with the kids.
