Saturday...Saturday...Saturday

This Saturday started in the wee early hours of the day.  Karsyn decided to go on a sleep strike.  Yikes!  By the time it was all said and done, Addi and Karsyn both were snoozing in my bed.  I'm not sure what's going on with my Little Miss, but I'm not liking it at all.

By 11:00 am, we were ready to watch Payton play basketball.  She was playing against the orange team.  She's at the very right of the picture, getting ready for the jump ball.
The start of Payton's game,

Daddy had to work and couldn't come to the game.  Nana was more than happy to help me out.  She loves watching the kiddos play basketball.  Evan and I had to leave at half time to make sure we got out to the soccer fields on time.  Addi and Karsyn stayed and watched the rest of the game with Nana.  Payton's team took another loss, but this time it was only by one goal.

After the game, Nana brought the girls out to the soccer fields.  Thank you so much for your help Nana!  We really appreciate you!!!!  Evan played defender the first half of the game and goalie the second half.  I love the look of determination on his face when he plays.

My goalie!
The opposing team only scored one goal on Evan. He did a great job keeping the ball out of the goal.

Evan diving for the ball.

Evan's team played really well together the second half of the game.  The won 5-2!  Way to go boys!!!  During the game, my sleep deprived Karsyn was a little cranky.  Who would have thought?  But, the girls still had fun playing together.

The girls colored.

They watched an episode of Caillou.  It's their favorite, don't you know?

They made a tent out of Payton's jacket.

After the game and lunch, I was really hoping that both of the littlest ladies of the family would take a nap.  But guess what, THEY DID NOT!!!  After trying for quite some time, we decided to run an errand.  Rumor had it, (okay, a friend posted on Instagram) that one of the local grocery stores was having a sale on big hair bows.  We had to go check it out.  Of course, we had to come home with a few.

How could we pass up $1.50 big hair bows???

Karsyn finally decided to take a little power nap when I was cooking dinner. That little nap gave her just enough gust to make her fight bedtime again! I'm really hoping that this whole hating sleep thing changes really soon! I am also really hoping that you had a great Saturday too!!!

  1. Whew, Saturdays are busy! Congrats to Evan on his team's win! Our Evan has tried goalie once so far, but it isn't his strength. Surprisingly, he is actually one of the best offensive players, but he runs himself to death during games. I never thought I would have said he was an offensive player after his first year playing because he was not aggressive. Now, he'll get right in there and fight for the ball. It's so funny how they change! I love how your girls keep themselves entertained during games. Brody and his little cousin Cate keep themselves entertained by running onto the field every chance they get. Sigh. Yes, watching a game with those two is anything but relaxing. :-)

  2. I love watching how the kids change season to season! It's fun! I can tell by your Evan's look of determination that he's a good little player. He seems like the kind of boy that once he sets his mind to doing something, he's going to do it. Keeping the girls entertained can be a job. I know it's not easy for them to sit through 2 hours worth of games every Saturday. Addi's at the point now where I can usually depend on her to be good. Karsyn's starting to enter into the stage where it's hit and miss. Last soccer season, they thought it was so funny to walk backwards to the white line of the field. The closer they would get, the more they would giggle. AH!
