Midweek Randoms

Lazy summer days seem so far behind us.  We are in full on busy mode.  For the most part, we are staying afloat.  This week, Addi joined Karsyn at Gymnastics class.  I think I might need to change the girls' class, but we'll wait to see how things pan out.

Jason and Evan also got to spar for the first time this week in GoJu.  They LOVED it.  I didn't get to watch them, but I did catch the last few minutes of their class. Both of my guys enjoy GoJu so much! Jason is one of the hardest working guys I know and he always puts our family first.  It makes me feel so good that he is taking this class and really getting to do something for himself.

Payton was thrilled to find out that she was 1 of 10 kids chosen to join her school's Lego League.  Lego League challenges teams to use engineering by building lego based robots. Payton had to submit an application and an essay.  She went to her first meeting this week and came home so excited.

Addi and Karsyn started the new season of dance.  Miss Payton's classes started last week.  They couldn't have been any more excited.  This is Addi's third year of dance.  She's taking tap and ballet.  I nearly signed her up for jazz and hip hop too, but she wanted to try out some sports.  She could not wait to get to class.

This season started Karsyn's second year of dance.  All 3 of our girls love it, but I'm pretty sure that Karsyn does the most.  She's taking tap and ballet, along with Pre-K Jam.  It's an introductory class to jazz and hip hop.

My pictures of the girls in their classes didn't turn out so well.  Most of the girls in Addi's ballet class are competitive dancers.  I think that will be really good for Addi.

Addi loves tap class.  She seems so in her element.

Karsyn loved seeing so many of her friends from last year in her classes.  I enjoyed seeing their moms.  Dance moms seem to get a bad rap, but I've met some wonderful ladies that have really become good friends.  I love watching Karsyn having a blast in class.  She really likes all of her classes, but she came alive during Pre-K Jamm.  She had a huge smile on her face during the whole class.

Tonight at church, the girls had Crazy Shirt Night.  I really didn't come up with any good ideas.  Payton decided to make a shirt out of toilet paper and hair bows.  She topped it off with a Hawaiian Lei.  And wouldn't you know it, she won!

One last super exciting random, which we actually found out about on Saturday, is that Evan was selected by an ivy league university's talent identification program.  My nephew Stephen was selected as well.  Both of our boys will be taking their ACT's this fall.  It's kind of crazy to think that my 11 year-old son and 12 year-old nephew will be taking such an important test, but this will open the door to so many opportunities for them.  No matter how the boys do, it's an honor to have been asked.

And if you can believe it, our week isn't close to being over. =)  Hope yours is going well!

  1. Rachel got into her dance class last minute but because of our CSA, Dave has taken her to class thus far. Therefore, I have been a slacker parent and haven't even gotten any pictures of her ready for dance. Sadness. This is the first year where our kids have a couple of activities each and I feel like I'm drowning. I honestly don't know how you do it with four busy kids. Yikes!
