Friday evening, our little family took Addi to speech. She met all of her goals last year and was released by her SLP, but she's still holding on to some bad habits. Addi and Karsyn both were super excited to see Miss Susan again. She's great and we feel blessed that she's available to help us. When we got home, we got busy making Grandma Shirley's famous no bake cookies. We have been missing her a lot lately and I thought it would be a good way to remember her. Addi did a really good job at the stove. (Please note, that's her daddy's hand on the stove and we were both standing right next to her the few minutes she was at the stove.)
She was soooo proud of herself!
I was so excited that our cookies turned out just like Grandma's. They were so good! Even better, was that Addi wore one of Grandma's old aprons and we talked a lot about her. Addi had the idea that we should have a joy party the next day. We all decided that meant making more cookies and giving them out to our family. Saturday morning, we got up and made a ton of cookies. While waiting for them to set, Addi and Karsyn took a few selfies. I loved finding this picture on my phone. They look a little like twins, no?
Other than making cookies, we spent a lot of time doing laundry, cleaning, and mowing the lawn. Later in the afternoon, we met Grandma and Papa Floyd at our favorite BBQ joint for dinner. The kiddos couldn't wait to see them.
After a very tasty dinner, we divided up. Grandma, Papa, Evan, and Payton went to the high school to play bingo. The band booster club was hosting their annual fundraiser and E&P were hoping to win big! Jason, Addi, Karsyn, and I headed over to Nana and Papa's house. Our second batch of cookies didn't set up as well as we had hoped, but you know, passing out cookies was part of the joy party.
Nana and Papa really enjoyed the cookies. Papa may or may not have ate all of them! =) Then, we divided up once again. Papa and Jason stayed to watch some OU football. It was one heck of a game from what I heard. Nana, Karsyn, Addi and I went basketball shoe shopping. Addi had one requirement for her shoes - they had to be purple. We actually found some at the 3rd store that we went to. =) We also found a cute Elmo car that Karsyn enjoyed.
Next up, we went leotard shopping. On the way home, we treated ourselves to Starbucks. I may have embarrassed myself, Nana and the girls just a bit. I pulled up to order and something tickled my funny bone - I misunderstood something that Nana said and lost it. I could barely stop laughing to put our order in. I'm sure the barista thought I was seven kinds of crazy. ha ha ha! My laughing made Nana, Karsyn, and Addi start laughing and we couldn't stop. We are some silly girls! (I realize to my blog friends, this may make me look crazy. But, if you know me in person, you would expect no less of me.) We got back to Nana's house in just enough time to get Jason and meet back up with Grandma, Papa Floyd, Evan, and Payton. They didn't win any rounds of bingo, but Payton won a door prize! It was a basket full of office supplies. Post it notes, dry erase markers, and white out tape are part of Payton's love language. She was one happy girl.
On Sunday morning, we went to church. After, Payton went home with one of her friends. The remaining 5 of us went home to eat lunch and then went shopping for the second day of the weekend. Two out of the four leotards I purchased didn't fit and the boys needed mouth pieces to spar in GoJu. We did our shopping and then went and got Payton. Then, we headed to Lowe's. Jason and I have several projects that we want to do around the house and we needed to do some pricing. I was very glad to find out that Lowe's has free Wifi. The kiddos were able to watch Netflix. Normally, that's not something we allow, but on this long trip, it was must.
It took us nearly two hours to price out everything for our projects that we hope to start very, very soon! After all that shopping, there was no way that I wanted to cook dinner. So, we called in a pizza on our way home. The rest of our evening was spent preparing for the week ahead. All in all, it was a great weekend! Hope your was too!

Your weekend sounds great! I love those weekends where a lot gets done, even though they can be kind of exhausting too. And I want to know what kind of projects you are doing that entail spending TWO HOURS at Lowes. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteAnd when I come visit, we can be all kinds of crazy together. It'll be awesome!
