Karsyn and I always kick off our weekend on Friday. We spent part of our day taking silly selfies. She really liked this one and told me to make it black and white and to send it to Jason.
After our selfie session, we picked up Nana and headed off to Kohl's. I had some Kohl's cash and a 20% off coupon burning burning a hole in my pocket. I ended up finding some curtains that I really love. After a little shopping, Nana and I headed to pick up Payton, Addi, and Evan from school. Then, we went to Addi's speech therapy session. Addi is really doing great! Up next, was the mall. We were on a mission to find Payton some jeans. She didn't have a single pair that fit. Before we went looking for jeans, we had food court Chinese food for dinner. Yum! Our plans were to take Justice by storm and find Payton a few pairs of jeans. Only, they didn't have the best selection of jeans in Payton's size. So, we headed up to Children's Place and hit the pay dirt. We found jeans, skirts, and shirts all on sale and got an extra 25% off coupon. I ended up getting all 3 girls a ton of fall clothes for what I planned to spend just on Payton's jeans. When we left the mall, it was storming something fierce. We passed a bad wreck on the highway and was so glad to get Nana to her house and then back home safely. Jason had just gotten off work, so we showed him everything we got while out shopping. After everyone went to bed, I got busy switching out curtains. The new curtains were such a dramatic difference from the old ones that I couldn't decide if I really liked them. I took it to Facebook and overwhelmingly, the new curtains won. (If you like the red curtains, they are now in our dining room.) Here's a little before and after.
I took this picture the next day when the light was coming in the windows.
Saturday, the kiddos and I spent the day cleaning house. Between jobs, Karsyn did some drawing. She was so proud of this picture. She loves to draw people now.
Saturday evening, Jason got off work in just enough time to drop Evan off at his very first youth group event. He went to the youth leaders' house for a bonfire and cookout. He had a blast playing basketball, football, and fellowshipping. Meanwhile at home, the girls, Jason and I played a fierce game of Uno. Payton was the big winner.
We missed church Sunday morning. All 3 girls said they had tummy aches and we were worried they were coming down with a virus. Turns out, they were all a-ok. Jason and Evan spent the day changing out our ceiling fans. We got a new fan for Evan's room and put his in the dining room. Nana and Papa had a new ceiling fan installed in their living room and were kind enough to give us their old fan. We install it in our living room. Jason's arms were a little sore at the end of the day - ha! That evening, Payton made Grandpa James some dinner and we ran it to his house before he left for church. It was a great weekend and it's not over yet. =) I hope you had a good one too!!!

That is so great to get such a good deal on fall clothes. I pulled new clothes for Rachel out of the boxes of hand-me-downs we have and it felt almost as crazy as a shopping trip! Ha!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Karsyn's people and your selfies :)
