Christmas Tag

My newest blog friend Brooke from The Life of Riffe's tagged me for this fun Christmas game.  I've decided to play along.  (Make sure you go check out Brooke's blog too!)

1. What do you love the most about Christmas Time?
I love the true meaning of Christmas.  It's amazing the amount of love that God has for us all!

2. Do you celebrate the holiday in style or is Bah-Humbug for you?
I am a very festive person.  So, I would stay that I celebrate in style.

3. Are you leaving anything out for Santa this year so he remember to leave your presents?
At our house, we know that Santa is just for fun.  But, we still leave him cookies and eggnog. We also put reindeer food out in the front yard.

4. What is one of the gifts that you are most looking forward to GIVING?
I can't wait for Karsyn to open her kitchen set.  All 3 of my girlies have said they'd like to have one in the last few weeks.  I can't wait to watch them play together!

5. What is your all time favorite Christmas movie?
I love the movie Elf.  My parents, Jason and I all went to see it when it was in theaters.  I laughed so hard!  We also set aside a special night to watch The Polar Express.

6. What is your all time favorite Christmas song?
I love Mary's Song!  It's so pretty.  I also really like Manger King by Third Day.  And who doesn't love Mary Did You Know?  I love all of the classics too!  Anything with a big brass band makes me happy.  There is one Christmas song that I really don't like.  Jason thinks it's crazy that I don't like the Christmas Shoe song by Alabama.  I don't know what it is about that song, but it's like nails on a chalk board for me.  What do you think?

7. If given the opportunity would you participate in an Ugly Sweater Party and what sweater would you wear?  Use one from the Internet or from your own closet if you have one.
I would love to go to an Ugly Sweater contest.  How fun would that be?   So, I have a Christmas confession to make.  I used to wear Ugly Christmas sweatshirts before they were cool.  It's been a while, but I must admit I kind of love them.  I really do.  If I had to pick one now, this one might be it.

8. Have you started any Christmas traditions this year that you plan to carry forward?
This year, I took the kiddos to our Christmas Parade for the first time in a long time.  This will be a tradition for us from now on.  We had so much fun!!!

9. It's Christmas morning....what does it look like where you live?
Oh goodness!  Living in Oklahoma I can honestly say that I don't know what the weather will be like, so I'm not sure how it will look.  We had an ice storm last night, but earlier this week, it was in the high 60's. I thought it was supposed to be cool, but Evan said we're supposed to get snow.  Maybe we'll have a white Christmas???

10. You just found yourself standing under the mistletoe...who comes to give you your first kiss?
That would be Jason.  If I was standing under the mistletoe, it would most likely be because he was holding it over my head.  ;)

Now, it's time to tag some friends!  If you decide to play along, leave a link in a comment.  Even if you don't play along, you might check out some of these other great blogs!

  1. I hate the Christmas Shoes song too. It's just completely depressing to me.

I'm normally pretty festive around Christmas too but this year, with various illnesses and already having spent time celebrating with my parents, I'm having a little trouble feeling super-festive.

    1. It's hard to feel festive when your sick. I hope ya'll all are feeling better!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who hates the Christmas Shoe song. It is depressing. And I can't listen to without thinking...why is a little guy that doesn't understand the concept of money alone in a store while his mother is dying?

  2. I am so sorry I am so behind on blogging and haven't had a chance to participate in this one. Sigh. My husband is bothered by the Christmas Shoes song too. I get that it is sweet in a way, but it is very sad too. I think my current favorite Christmas song is "A Strange Way to Save the World" by 4Him.
