SNOWOKLAHOMA

There is still snow on the ground and it's still quite icy here in the great state of Oklahoma.  All of the area schools have been cancelled again.  I've really enjoyed having the kids home.  We've had a lot of fun.  We finally hung our stockings...

The stocking were hung by the Christmas Tree with care.
I'm not sure how, but our Christmas Tree looks so pretty every time we take a picture of it. The kids decorated the tree....I promise! I let the kiddos hang ornaments where ever they wanted. I love the chair by the widow. The kids have spent a lot of time peaking outside at the snow.  We've also spent a lot of time baking, for two reasons.  One, we love goodies. And two, Addi's speech therapist wants us have Addi tell us the steps of how to do something using first, next, and last.  She did a great job.  All the girlies helped out with these Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.

We just use the bags of Betty Crocker Cookie Mix. =)
Evan has spent A LOT of time watching football.  He's currently watching the Outback Bowl from 2010!  This Saturday while he watched the Bedlam game, he and my dad were on the phone and they "watched" the game together.  That game was awesome by the way.  OU scored two touch downs in the last 49 seconds and won!  Boomer Sooner!  Evan and Papa are both super excited that OU is going to be playing Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

We've played a lot of card games during our snow days.  I love playing Crazy 8's with the kids.  We've also played a game where I put a few different toys in a bag and each kiddo closes their eyes and pulls a toy out.  They have to use at least 3 different words to describe the toy.  It's another speech therapy game, but all of the kids love to play.  And of course, the kids have played a few video games.  It made my heart happy to find the kids snuggling while they played.

Silly Kids
We've watched a ton of Christmas movies over the last few days.  At last count, we've watched Caillou Holiday Movie 184 times!  Maybe not quite that many!  The kiddos also really enjoyed watching Frosty the Snowman, Curious George A Very Monkey Christmas, Good Luck Jessie It's Christmas, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  We are going to set aside a special night to watch The Polar Express.  That's one of Daddy's favorites!

Daddy was off yesterday, so we decided to go sledding.  Unfortunately, most of the hills in town didn't have enough snow or had too many tracks. We did find a great place to go sledding next time it snows.  Even better, it's really close to our house.  We ended up using a little slope in Nana and Papa's backyard.  It wasn't much of a slope, so the kids had to have a push start.

Evan went first!

Here he goes!

Payton's turn

Addi smiled the whole time!

Karsyn too!

Love my Evan!

Then Karsyn fell down and it was time to go!
I felt so bad that Karsyn did not have any mittens on when she fell down.  Her little hands were so cold!  Daddy and I wrapped her up in a blanket that he had in his car and that made her feel so much better.  After we got home, we enjoyed a warm bowl of Baked Potato Soup.
All this snow has me super excited about the possibility of a white Christmas!  Wouldn't that be exciting?

  4. We are hopefully going sledding tomorrow. It's got to be perfect conditions for sledding to work out well.

And Rachel refuses to wear mittens so she takes them off after about two minutes and then, two minutes later she's crying because "Cold hands!!!" Crazy child :)
