Santa Baby

On Sunday, our church had to cancel services due to a power outage.  I really didn't want to miss church the Sunday before Christmas, so we visited Uncle Billy and Aunt Kary's church.  We had visited a few weeks earlier to hear Natalie sing, so the kids were all super excited to go. 

After we dropped Addi and Karsyn off at the nursery, we met up with the rest of our family in the main sanctuary.  After we got seated,  the pastor announced that they were having a children's program and that all the children were invited to participate.  Evan was given a speaking part, but I guess that he didn't realize that after he spoke, he was supposed to be part of a dance number.  We may or may not have giggled as all of the other kiddos danced their pants off while Evan stood there with his hands in his pockets.  =)

After services, we were all invited to stay for lunch and to meet with a special visitor.  We ate hot dogs, chips, and cookies.  As we were finishing up, Santa came!  Addi and Karsyn both had a case of Santa hate and refused to sit on his lap.  Payton and Natalie decided to see Santa together.  Payton, Addi and two other little girls at the church were all wearing the same dress. =)

It really surprised me that Payton remembered seeing Santa at Uncle Billy's church when she was 3. Here she is then.

I was really surprised that Evan sat on Santa's lap too.  The look on his face cracks me up.

Before Santa left, all of the kids were asked to take a group picture with Santa.  Addi still refused, but Karsyn did let Natalie hold her close to Santa.

We had so much fun!  I'm so glad that we went.  When we got home, we didn't have any electricity.  On Saturday, a tree branched snapped and our power lines went down.  When the lines went down, our weather head was pulled off our our house and was damaged.  We still had electricity until the linemen came and cut our lines so they wouldn't be live.  Daddy and Papa Floyd were going to fix the weather head, but it had to be done by a certified electrician.  He came out that night, but it was too late for our power to be restored when he was finished with the repair.  So, we and all of our refrigerated and freezer goods, stayed the night at Nana and Papa's house.

We really appreciate all of our family being so willing to help us, it was such a blessing!  We can't thank you all enough!
