Sunday after Addi and Karsyn's birthday party, we headed out to Grandma and Papa's house for a little belated Fourth fun. A friend of mine posted a cute American Flag berry and pretzel tray on Facebook. It looked really easy, festive, and patriotic, so I thought I'd make one for our celebration. My friend used strawberries on her tray, but I went with raspberries. I used the blueberries we picked earlier in the week. Jason and I made the white chocolate pretzels together.
The girlies changed into patriotic clothes before we left for Grandma's house. Apparently, the little dress Karsyn is wearing in this picture is quite popular. I've noticed it in several other Independence Day posts! It was a great Wal-Mart find for less than $5!!!! I love finding cute sun dresses there.
When we got to Grandma's house, we ate yummy snacks, played some games, and then Karsyn opened her birthday gift from Papa and Grandma, with a little help from her sisters.
When it got dark, we headed outside to light a few fireworks. Evan really liked throwing down snap pops. He really wanted to be out in the yard with the guys to light fireworks, but I was afraid it would upset his asthma. =( Grandma got out ear protection for Payton and Addi. They said the fireworks hurt their ears. All of the kiddos had fun watching the show put on by Daddy, Papa, and Uncle Brian.

You got attacked by a grasshopper?!?! What the heck???
ReplyDeleteAlso, I do really like Karsyn's dress :)
Yes!!! He jumped on me and would not let go! It was crazy!
DeleteOh my, killer grasshoppers...haha! It looks like a great night with family. I always love patriotic dresses on little girls! I bet that little fireworks show was the best. I remember watching some with my old high school boyfriend's family and having the best time. My family has never done that. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe did have a great night. Jason's family loves to shoot off fireworks. It's fun to watch.
