Tonight, our little family went to a small, neighboring town's annual firework show. It's becoming a little bit of a tradition...we went last year too. The kiddos could not wait to go! They looked way too cute!
My goodness, they are growing up so fast. Here's their picture from exactly two years ago. They can't even all fit on the bench now. ha!
Aunt Ashley and Jessi are in town for a couple of days. We were so excited to be able to meet up with them. The little town that hosts the show every year is very small. In fact, it's so small that it doesn't even have a stop light. Around 15,000 people come to the celebration, so parking is a little tricky. We got really lucky and found a church that had free parking, bouncy houses, and restrooms. Yay! Of course we had to take a few pictures.

Payton and Jessi were so excited to be reunited.
We saw so many people we knew! We ran into Payton's school BFF.

The kiddos bounced in the bouncy houses for a little while and then we found a place to sit in the church yard to watch the fireworks. The kiddos loved wearing the special glasses that the church handed out to everyone.

| Here's what we saw through the glasses every time light reflected through. Daddy took this really cool picture. |
The fireworks ended up starting a little later than expected. We had fun singing, playing made-up games, and being all kinds of goofy while we waited. When the show started the kids were all in awe...although, Evan, Payton, and Jessi asked about every 10 seconds each if it was the grand finale. =)
As you can imagine, traffic coming home was really crazy! Karsyn rolled her window down and said "Good-bye everyone!" to all of the passer bys. It was too cute! The amount of fun totally made up for traffic jam. It was a great night!

I love nights like that. We had fun celebrating the 4th in a similar fashion here. There just may have been a few more people around. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing pictures of your kids from years past. It's so fun to watch them grow up! We really enjoyed our fireworks this year too. Sam was in complete awe and Rachel fell asleep. Ha ha ha!!!
