Last weekend, we went to a family gathering. Set out on the table was a big bowl of Pink Stuff. To be honest, I was a little leery to try it. Over the years, I've had lots of different "stuff" recipes at family and church functions and I haven't always enjoyed them. I decided to give this one a try and I am so glad that I did. It was so good!!! Sally, the sweet family friend who brought Pink Stuff, was more than happy to share her recipe. I made up a big batch yesterday and my little family gobbled it all up. If you are looking for a sweet summer treat, this just might be something that you give a try.
I had to alter Sally's recipe just a bit to make enough for our little family. I guess our little family is not so little, is it?
Here's what I used.
2 containers of Cool Whip
1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 cans of Cherry Pie Filling
1 drained can of pineapple tidbits
1 drained can of mandarin oranges
1 small package of chopped pecans
I started by mixing the cool whip and sweetened condensed milk together in a big bowl. Once that was thoroughly mixed, I dumped the other ingredients in one at a time and mixed well. Stick in your fridge for at least 30 minutes to chill and then enjoy! If there's a fruit you really enjoy, add it too! Next time, I'm going to add shredded coconut. If you try this out, make sure you let me know what you think.

That sounds so yummy! I definitely need to try this out. I have been making some homemade ice cream the past couple of weeks as a cool, sweet treat, but this would be a nice addition. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love homemade ice cream! I always make orange sherbet. It's our favorite!
DeleteI know what you mean. Sometimes church functions can have some very different foods. I'm not all that brave, but we might try this. : )
ReplyDeleteIt's really yummy! I hope you like it if you try it.
DeleteThis sounds yummy! I'd never heard of it before but I think I'll definitely have to make some. Now I just need to find a good occasion to make it for! Like tonight Sam seems to have fallen asleep at 8:30. I think that's a good occasion :) Ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good! Thanks for sharing!
