Independence Day {2014}

Happy Independence Day!!!  The 4th of July is one of my favorite days of the year.  For me, this day celebrates our freedom, our faith, and our family.  It's also a great day to enjoy food.  The kiddos enjoyed bomb pops a plenty.
Addi, Payton, Karsyn, & Evan - July 4, 2014

Karsyn celebrated her last day to be two.  Tomorrow, she'll be a big 3 year-old.
The kiddos and I spent the morning visiting with family.  We spent the afternoon resting.  About the time that Daddy got off of work, Nana and Papa stopped by to drop off gifts for a couple of birthday girls.
After Nana and Papa left, we headed to our local fireworks show.  We met with Uncle Billy, Aunt Kary, Emily, Stephen, my cousin Rita and her husband, Ryan.  We met up at a local hamburger restaurant to watch the show from the parking lot.  Watching the show here is one of the best kept secrets of our little town.  You can see the entire show and be home before traffic gets crazy.  I really enjoyed visiting with everyone.

It was a great day!  I hope that your 4th was safe and happy too!

  1. I'm glad you all got to go see fireworks. It might still be a few more years before we do that. We did enjoy grilling out and swimming in the pool though. :)

  2. I can't tell if my other comment went through or not! We also love spending the 4th with family and friends. It's such a fun, low-key holiday! I'm having a hard time staying consistent with my blogging. Any tips to share on how you get your post up regularly?! :) Lana

    1. The 4th really is one of my favorites!

      I try to set aside a little time when the kiddos are sleeping to blog. Usually it's after bedtime, but every now and then when the little ladies nap, I'll squeeze a post in. I try to do a post as soon as I can to remember the little details. I'm not sure if those are great tips, but I just encourage you to blog when you can, because I love reading about your family. =)

  3. Nothing says 4th of July like patriotic popsicles! I love it! Sadly, we didn't have any. And that Karsyn is a little 4th of July firecracker. Haha! And yes, we love finding spots to watch fireworks without dealing with the traffic. Unfortunately, that is hard to do in our city. We just braved the traffic this year and didn't get home until midnight. Both kids fell asleep in the car. :-)

    1. My kiddos love popsicles!! We've only done small town firework shows. I bet the city traffic is pretty crazy, but all the the fun makes it worth it.

    1. Isn't it the best to have your own little spot?

      Payton handed down the patriotic dress to both of her sisters. I love it and I love that all 3 girls have worn it.
