When you have 4 kiddos in school this time of year, you get a lot and I mean A LOT of notes sent home every day. I went in to mommy panic mode when I found out that Addi's 1st grade Christmas Program was at the exact same time as Evan's Winter Band Concert. Ahh! Addi had a small speaking part, but it was what I thought would be the only band concert that I would be able to attend this school year...what's a mama to do? Fortunately, Addi's school was having an afternoon and an evening performance of her program. So, Grandpa James and I were able to watch Addi in the afternoon and Evan in the evening. Jason, however, didn't get to watch them both. =( We had to divide, conquer and video to make the night work. Here's me with my big kids right before Grandpa came over.
Evan and Stephen are in band together. Here they are on stage! Stephen is 1st chair and Evan is 2nd. They did an amazing job! Stephen got to be the horse in "Sleigh Ride." He did a great job!
After the concert, we took a few pictures. Here's Evan and his buddy Troy.
Evan, Grandpa James, and Mr. Stephen.
Emily, Evan, Grandpa James, Payton, Stephen, and Natalie. I love this pic!!!
Meanwhile, in the gymnatorium across the street, Addi was performing in "A Martian Christmas." Nana, Papa, Jason, and Karsyn all attended her evening performance. Jason took this picture for me. Addi just sparkles on stage!
I took these pictures earlier in the day. They are a little blurry, but here's my girl at the mic. She wasn't a bit nervous. She did a great job saying her lines.
Of course, we always wish we could be every performance, but I think we made the best of the night. We did find out that the 7th grade band will have many performances next semester. Hopefully, everyone in our family will have the opportunity to watch our boys do what they love.

Awww, I know you are so proud of them! :)
ReplyDeleteWhew! Glad you had much support to help you be there for all the kiddos. Addi's program sounded cute and funny. I miss the Christmas performances, but I have also just enjoyed a less busy Christmas season this year with Evan being out of school all month. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is so great. And PLEASE say more about the "Martian Christmas." I thought Rachel's entire kindergarten year doing the macarena to Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer took the cake but this might be the winner :)
