The Weekend What

Our little family had another busy weekend.  It's just what we do. =)  Friday evening, Addi had Speech.  Payton skipped basketball practice, because the girls had dress rehearsal for the children's Christmas program at church.  They are all part of the choir and my goodness, did they ever look adorable. I think I need this picture in poster size. =)

Rehearsal went pretty well...for the most part. =)  Evan enjoyed chatting with his buds while the girls were singing away.

Saturday morning came and we did some tidying up.  In the afternoon, Payton had her first basketball game of the season.  This year, Payton is playing 5th grade basketball through our elementary school.  The league has several teams from the 4 elementary schools in our district.   Payton was a little nervous, because she was playing against a team that had one of her former coaches and quite a few girls she's played with before.  She knew it was going to be a tough fought game.  Here's her team warming up.

Since our team colors are very similar to the team that we played, the girls had to wear target jerseys.

Payton got played as a starter.

Payton is the shortest girl on the court, but she makes up for it by being one scrappy little player.  She's not afraid to use up some of her fouls.

 Here she is in action.

Not in my house!

The girls played really hard, but still took a loss.  They worked really hard out there and I couldn't be more proud of them.

After the big game, Evan went to the youth group Christmas party at our church.  Grandma Beverly, Papa Floyd, Uncle Brian and Aunt Stephanie came by to take Payton to a play at our local community theater.  They watched "Twas The Last Mailing Day Before Christmas." Here's Payton ready for the big show.  I thought she looked so pretty!

While the big kids and Jason were away, the little ladies and I tried to make melted crayon ornaments.  Ours is the one on the left.  The Pinterest example is on the right.  I'll let you decide if it's a success. ha!
Early Sunday morning, I made the discovery that I am allergic to the new mascara I bought.  We skipped out on morning church so that I could try to find a way to get my eyelids to stop swelling.  Ugh!  In the afternoon, Payton went to her friend Ashlyn's Christmas party.
We had to pick her up a little early, so that we could get ready for the big Christmas Program at church.  The girls were extra cute on stage.

We had a cookie reception after the program.  The young man pictured below rather enjoyed the reception.

It was a great weekend!  I hope yours was too!

  2. Peyton, looks so grown up. Colby really wanted to play basketball this year, but I told him playing spring baseball, summer baseball, and fall baseball with only two months break before we start back in February that maybe we should sit that out. lol

  3. I LOVE the title of this post. I may have to steal that for this coming weekend. :) It looks like y'all do stay busy, but I couldn't imagine it any other way with 4 kiddos that are involved in various things. Your kiddos are so cute and are growing so fast. Have a fantastic Friday! :) Lana

  4. I absolutely think a large print of that first picture of the girls is a must. ;-) And that pic of Payton is just perfect. She looks so grown up and beautiful. Haha to the pinterest fail! Gotta love it! And I have to add that Evan is looking quite handsome as well. Our Evans are their dads' little clones. :-)
