Snow Days

March is kind of a crazy weather month in Oklahoma.  You just never really know what to expect.  Last week, we thought Spring had finally Sprung, but we were wrong.  Sunday we got a fair amount of snow and ice in, so school was cancelled on Monday.  We got out that afternoon for a very short time to play.  Yeah, we only lasted about 6 minutes, but it was a fun 6 minutes. =)

The kiddos took turn using the saucer in the drive way.  Karsyn went first!

Then it was Addi's turn.  I may have not been in the best spot. ha!  But, I love that you can see her big dimple!

Evan's turn was next!  He was surprised how fast he slid down the drive way.

Evan gave Payton a little push!

Late Monday afternoon, we found out school was cancelled for today.  Since the kiddos and I hadn't left the house since Saturday, we were all getting a case of cabin fever.  We decided to go out to lunch at McDonald's so the kids could play for a little while.  Evan thought it was a great idea. =)

I love these silly apple juice drinking sisters.

Hungry girls!

I really love watching the kids play and seeing how they interact with each other and other kids.  Evan is getting to the age where he enjoys playing for a while, but he starts getting a little bored.  I know his play area days are numbered - he is going to be going to middle school later this year. But, there's no reason he can't enjoy it until then. Payton is like a little monkey when she's playing.  She loves to jump and climb!  Addi is still cautious, but she's starting to come out of that.  She had a lot of fun and wasn't scared this time at all.  Karsyn is a social butterfly.  She loves to play and talk to everyone.  I heard her tell a new friend, "My name is Karsyn.  This is my sister, Payton."  It was so sweet!

After lunch and after playing, the kiddos and I then headed to Wal-Mart.  We only bought a couple of items, but we walked around for quite some time. It was the first time we had left the house in 4 days and we wanted needed to be out.  Usually Addi rides in the bottom part of the basket, but she decided that she wanted to walk.   We have to have smooth shopping trips so, we have a little system. She did great! When we got home, we found out that soccer practice was cancelled, but the girls had dance.  Thankfully, Jason was off work before it was time to go.  That way, I only had to get my dancing girls out.  I love watching them!

My sister posted this picture of me on Facebook and I think Addi looks a lot like me at this age.  What do you think?

So far, the kiddos have school tomorrow.  It does look like we might be getting some more snow in tomorrow afternoon. Ugh!
How's your weather?

  1. We got some warmer weather and then it got cold again. That's ok, when July rolls around and I am soaking my swollen feet in cold water, I'll look back at these snowy day posts. : )

  2. I love Addi's face peeking through her shoes. That's such a cute picture!

And I can't believe you can be outside with your jackets open. I so CANNOT wait until we get some warmer temperatures!

And I'm curious what your system is for smooth shopping trips. Please please please fill me (us!) in...
