- I mentioned before that next school year, I was going to sub and cover maternity leave for one of the very sweet teachers at our favorite church preschool. On Tuesday, the director of the preschool met me at my mini van and asked me if instead of subbing, if I would be interested in teaching a three year-old class next school year. Starting in August, I'm going to be a working mom. I'll be working part time Monday through Thursday for about 4 hours each day. Karsyn will come with me every day and be in both of my classes. Even more exciting is that I will get to plant little seeds of faith in a classroom full of cuties every day that I work. I've told Jason for the last few years that I would love to work at this school. It just amazes me that I was offered a job there that I never applied for in the perfect season of our lives to be able to accept it. I love how God works things out!
- After about two months of research, Payton had to do a presentation on Mexico for her Gifted and Talented class. I really wish that I could have been there, but Karsyn had an upset tummy. Payton gave a 30 minute presentation to her GT class and then did it a second time for her third grade class. She did it all on PowerPoint. At the end, she served chips and salsa. Payton was pretty nervous about the presentation, she tends to be very shy and does not like to be the center of attention. But, she did a great job. Her GT teacher rated her presentation as an Outstanding Performance. Mrs. D. expects a lot, so Payton was excited that she got the highest grade she could receive. I am so proud of her!
- Wednesday was Addi's last day of school. She was laying in bed with me that morning and I asked her how she felt about it being her last day at her preschool. She pulled the blankets over her head and started crying. The last few days of school are always filled with so much fun. With all that fun, she hadn't given much thought that she wouldn't be going back and that she'd be leaving her best buddy. My heart broke for her. It was pajama day, once she slipped into her p.j.'s she was excited again. She also got to bring cupcakes for her birthday. She doesn't turn 5 until June, so her friends celebrated with her early.
- Payton had her last soccer practice of the season last night. Her last game is this Saturday. As of next week, we'll be down to just dance and gymnastics for our extra activities for the rest of the month. We usually take the summer off of activities, but we have some planned. Evan is going to play summer basketball and go to basketball camp. Payton is going to take a cheer leading class and go to painting camp. (Camps are only a few hours each day. No overnight camp...just yet.) Karsyn and Addi are going to take a preschool gymnastics class together.
That's everything you missed in the last couple of days! Now, to get caught up on all of your blogs!

Argh to computer issues. That is so frustrating :( I'm glad to read this update though. I was hoping you were okay as we hadn't heard from you in a bit (in blogland that is!)
ReplyDeleteAnd wow! I love how you got that job. That is so awesome and it's great that Karsyn can be with you the whole time.
Way to go Payton on your Mexico presentation! It sounds like your hard work was well rewarded :)
It's still so crazy to me to think that your kids are wrapping up their school year. We still have another six weeks left until we hit summer break. I'm starting to get pretty excited about it though!
I am so far behind--don't know when I'm going to get a chance to catch up!
