It really makes me happy that Jason has been helping the Evan and Payton learn the trumpet. I love that most of our evenings look like this...
Evan has improved so much over the last few weeks. He challenged the first chair player and won the seat last week! After a week that included another chair test and two more rounds of challenges, he kept his spot. Jason is just amazed at how much Evan's progressed over the last few weeks. Payton is learning right along there with Evan. She can play several little songs and is learning notes like a champ. She has a really nice tone! I'm so impressed with how quickly she is learning to read music and the correct fingerings! More than anything, I love that they are all bonding over their love of music. That makes me happy.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies is The Legend of 1900 (not really a kid movie and it does have a sad ending). However, it does have a lot of trumpet playing and piano playing in it.

Way to Evan on retaining first chair. And I think it's just great that your kids are learning instruments. I can't wait until we can start Sam on piano. We'll probably do it next fall.
