I do have to apologize for the quality of the pictures. The lighting isn't the best. =( Here's Evan and the other M.C.'s getting some last minute information.
Here is Evan introducing an act. The three M.C.'s took turns throughout the show. Since they were all on stage the whole time, they had to laugh at all the comedy acts, be amazed at all of the magic acts, and watch intently all of the singing and dancing acts. They also had the job of shhhing the audience when needed.
Evan was in one of the acts. All of the 5th graders played a song on their recorders with the high school marching band. Evan is second from the end.
Evan was also in a second act that he didn't know was coming. There was a delay in the show while the stage hands set up mats for the tumbling acts. It took longer than planned, so the music teacher announced that everyone needed to do The Cupid Shuffle. Yep, he had to dance on stage in from of his whole school!!! Bless Evan's heart, he got his dancing skills from his mama. I couldn't help but giggle. And don't worry, Evan takes it all in stride. He was cracking up with me when we watched the video later. He may have got my moves, but he got my sense of humor too.
It takes a lot of nerve to do what Evan did and he really did such a great job. I tell you, this son of mine makes me so proud!!!

Way to go Evan! I am highly impressed!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natasha!!! I will tell him!
DeleteEvan definitely gets big kudos from me! I am definitely a very shy and introverted type of person, and I think my Evan got that from me. We are definitely encouraging him to be more social though, and he is very friendly although he can be reserved until he gets to know you. I just love your Evan's ability to stand up on a stage and speak and perform in front of so many of his peers. Sounds like he is a born leader! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry!!! Evan and Karsyn are very out going and very social. Addi and Payton are VERY shy! I was when I was in school too, so we have also tried to get them to be more social. I've come out of my shell since school, but I still don't think I could have done what Evan did....well not without shaking and sweating a lot. ha!
DeleteThat's awesome! Way to go Evan! One of my biggest goals for my kids is to encourage them to try new things and be willing to take a chance. Looks like Evan nailed it and had a blast in the process!!
