Almost every Tuesday and Thursday morning, we take my nephew Stephen to school. Uncle Billy or Aunt Kary drop him off and he's here for about 20 minutes before it's time to leave. The entire 20 minutes is filled with giggles. Just about every morning, Stephen gets hug after hug from Addi and Karsyn.
Stephen asks Addi every morning who her best friend is and she always says it's him. Then, we all plead our case to Addi as to why we think we should be her best friend. No matter what we say, she always chooses Stephen. (Umm...until he's not around and then it's always Payton.) Stephen always hopes that Karsyn will say that he's her best friend too. But, I'm the lucky one who gets that honor.
Evan and Stephen talk about school. A lot of time they talk about girls. Stephen is girl c-r-a-z-y!!!! Evan's not quite there yet. He says having a crush on a girl is enough for him. =) (And yes, I'm lucky enough to know the names of the girls that they like, but I'll keep that between us!) Payton loves to try to make the boys blush when they talk about girls. She'll name names. ha!
The boys talk about basketball. I love that they are on the same team! They talk about Harry Potter books. It drives Stephen all kinds of crazy that Evan skips around in the series. Stephen loves the books and Evan just reads them because they carry a lot of AR points. Stephen has Payton very excited about reading the series.
We all love the mornings that our Silly Stephen comes over! When he knocks on the door, Addi will always say, "Stephen's home!" She thinks he belongs with us. I love how the simple act of taking Stephen to school a couple of days a week makes all of us closer!

ReplyDeleteSo sweet that all the kids love Stephen! He sounds like a character. Tell the boys beware letting the girls know too much about their girl crushes. ;-) Brody's newest sweet saying is to announce who is home. When I get home, he comes running to the door to announce "Mommy's home." Then he proceeds to tell me what I need to do. Haha!
